How do I know if my roof needs to be replaced?

1

If your roof is around 10–15 years old in Dallas (very rare to get insurance coverage on an old roof) or if it’s been through hail, wind, or storms, it might be time for a replacement. Signs include missing or curled shingles, leaks, or visible storm damage. A professional inspection will tell you exactly what’s needed.

Many insurance policies cover damage caused by storms, hail, or high winds. If your roof is old or worn, insurance usually won’t cover replacement just for age. We can help document damage, provide estimates, and guide you through the claims process to make it easier.

For smaller commercial buildings, such as retail strip centers or small offices, a roof replacement may take three to seven days. Medium-sized commercial buildings often require one to two weeks, especially when the roof has multiple penetrations, HVAC units, or requires phased work to keep the building operational. Large commercial or industrial buildings can take two to four weeks or longer. In most cases, a commercial roofing project is planned around safety, quality, and minimal disruption rather than speed.

At Daltex, we have completed multiple commercial roofing projects across a wide range of building types, so we understand how to plan and execute these jobs efficiently while minimizing disruption to daily operations. Our experience allows us to set realistic timelines and ensure the roof is installed correctly, safely, and built to last.

A metal roof typically takes four to five days to install on a residential home, but the exact timeline depends on the size of the roof, its complexity, the type of metal being used, weather conditions, and whether any repairs are needed underneath. In most cases, a properly installed metal roof should never be rushed. Usually a multi-day process designed to ensure durability, watertight performance, and long-term value for the homeowner.
